1 piece mahogany body, 2 piece solid flame maple cap (no veneer), 1 piece mahogany neck, Tokai MK2 PAFs (great pickups). This is spec'd exactly the same as the LS-260 in their current lineup, which probably would run you about $2,400 if you imported one from Japan (before shipping). Next is a modern Tokai that's part of their premium line.
Tokai's only made guitars branded Reborn Old for about 6 months in 1980 between the Les Paul Reborn and Love Rock. The most significant ding is on the top in the upper rear portion of the guitar (you can see it in the pics). It's a 30 year old guitar that has been played, so there is some playwear (worming on the back, dings, etc). Completely original except for some direct replacement tuners. Most interested in a high quality low wattage combo amp (Carr Mercury, Fargen Miniplex MK2, Swart AST, other brands in a similar vein).įirst up is a vintage 1980 Tokai Reborn Old LS-50 Goldtop. Obviously not going to be too interested in any LPs. Not particularly looking for trades, but will give consideration to trade offers. All three of these guitars are great in their own right, just redundant to what I already have. When it comes right down to it, I really only play my Tokai LS-320 when I want that classic 2 Humbucker tone or my Navigator Black Beauty for P90 tone.
I've come to the conclusion that I have too many traditional Les Paul guitars (Gibson & Tokai).
